The overwhelming question when it comes to any type of sustainability effort, is how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected progress. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has caused the SPP to suspend a large number of the programs. With that, we will research what programs remain, if they are still intact because they are essential, and how the SPP will build back up with the pandemic phasing.
In addition, our research will bring the future of SPP as a national organization into question. What type of political and socioeconomic forces are keeping them or helping them from expanding? Finally, the most pressing to us, how can a student from Boston (the farthest domestic city from Washington) volunteer for a SPP program, or get the word out in our own state?
